ABOUT BLOOD & GEARS

Five Nights at Freddy's: BLOOD & GEARS is a complete reimagining of Scott Cawthon's original Five Nights at Freddy's game. The game is directed by JDBRYANT and is created by a passionate team of over 30 people.

Something we wanted to set out to do from the very beginning was the make the game very narrative-driven. We wanted to craft a compelling story with characters that players would really care about while still staying true to the Five Nights at Freddy's formula. Our story keeps some of the key events from the original FNAF lore but in a new, refreshing context.

Another thing we set out to do was make the setting feel more grounded than many other fangames or even official media. We took heavy inspiration from real life animatronics and establishments like Chuck E. Cheese's, Showbiz Pizza, as well as official content like the Five Nights at Freddy's movie. It was important for us to create designs that could look friendly during the day while still keeping that unnerving and uncanny feeling to them at night that FNAF 1 pulls off so well.

The team couldn't be more proud of this project and how far we've come. Development takes a lot of time, but when the time comes for release, we hope everyone loves BLOOD & GEARS as much as we do so we can keep making games beyond this. :)

STORY

BLOOD & GEARS takes place in Colorado Springs during October 2003. Once teeming with crowds of children, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place is a shell of its former glory. Following a major decline in business and a disastrous break-in the previous year, the company is on its last legs.

You play as a currently unnamed protagonist, voiced by Xander Alsip, returning to Colorado Springs after a near twenty year absence. In desperate need of some cash, he is left with no choice but to pick up the security gig at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Place, a place he knows too well. Or, does he?

On your first night, you meet the phone guy, Jeremy, voiced by Corey LeVier, as he fills you in on some of the history and how best to survive the night shift. As the game goes on, players will find out more about the protagonist’s deep-rooted past as he uncovers a dark secret brewing deep within the underbelly of Freddy’s.

"The past has a voice and its calling you home."

GAMEPLAY

While crafting the office gameplay for BLOOD & GEARS, we weren't trying to re-invent the wheel. We decided it'd be best to create a blend of classic FNAF 1 gameplay with a few of our own unique mechanics mixed in. Where we really get to be creative is in the Overtime segments.

At the end of the first night, you will have a choice whether or not to participate in Overtime throughout the week, which are small minigames that take place in-between each night. They mainly consist of various chores assigned to you by Jeremy, varying in difficulty.

By participating in Overtime, you may be rewarded with bonus content that wouldn't be unlocked otherwise. ;)

NOTICE: Not everything described in this gameplay description will be available in the demos.

FAZBEAR ARCHIVE

Fazbear Archive is BLOOD & GEARS' ongoing ARG Project. The ARG takes place in contemporary times and serves as a way for fans of the game to get a peek into our world in a way the game may or may not be able to provide.

The archive is run by an an in-universe group of individuals interested in preserving the history and media of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. After a while, however, the group finds themselves in over their heads in a situation they don't understand.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When will the game release?

We are aiming for a release in the later half of 2026, though that
is definitely subject to change.

Is BLOOD & GEARS a FNAF 1 remake?

We prefer to call it a 'reimagining.' BLOOD & GEARS is our version of
FNAF 1, but we have taken several creative liberties to make the game
and story our own. Don't assume everything will be the same as canon! ;)

What is BLOOD & GEARS made in?

The visuals are pre-rendered in Blender while the game itself is made with Godot.

What is Fazbear Archive?

Fazbear Archive is an in-universe group archiving the history of Freddy's.
It also serves as our ongoing ARG project. Check it out here!

Will Golden Freddy be present?

While not an enemy, Golden Freddy will have a small role in the game,
though maybe not in the form you'd expect.

Will there be a sequel?

It depends on a lot of factors but we already have some ideas in mind if we
were to make a sequel.

Do I need a high-end PC to play it?

BLOOD & GEARS, much like Scott's FNAF games, is pre-rendered, meaning most people
should be able to run the game well.

What platforms will BLOOD & GEARS be released for?

The full game is planned to be released for Windows, Linux, and MacOS. There are
currently no plans to release the game for mobile platforms.
